Pencil Artist of the Week: Rick Ratchford

This week’s featured pencil artist is Rick Ratchford. Rick is a US based graphite artist who creates lifelike portraits using an array of tools in addition to his graphite pencils. Including charcoal, blending stumps, kneaded erasers and more. Rick’s style involves laying down graphite in darker areas first and then using blending techniques to spread the graphite into lighter areas. Check out some samples of his work below:
