Pencil Artist of the Week: Maria Cristina Bellucci

We’ve featured pencil artists who do some pretty unique things with pencils, but this week’s featured pencil artist takes it to another level. Her name is Maria Cristina Bellucci and we can almost guarantee that you haven’t seen pencil art like her’s before.

Instead of drawing, sketching or doodling with her pencils, Maria sculpts them. She sculpts them into hexagons, circles, ellipses and more. Her sculptures aren’t designed to sit on a shelf and collect dust, however, they’re designed to be worn. That’s right, Maria Cristina Bellucci creates pencil jewelry.

Maria’s creations range from rings to hair clips, all made out of color pencils that were sculpted, shaped and sanded. Even though they vary in size, shape and color, each Maria Cristina Bellucci original features a level of creativity not often found in any kind of sculpture or jewelry.
