Pencil Artist of the Week: Grelin Machin

Pencil Artist Grelin Machin

This week’s featured pencil artist is Grelin Machin, a pencil artist living in Montreal, Canada who creates whimsical color pencil drawings that feature just a touch of the dark side. Grelin’s character designs are some of the most creative and inspired designs I’ve seen in some time and, after browsing the entirety of her DeviantArt gallery, I’m left wanting more, more, more.

The best way I can describe Grelin’s style is Adventure Time meets The Nightmare Before Christmas. Her characters feature thin, elongated limbs and large, expressive faces that almost always feature a tinge of gloom. She creates all of her color pencil drawings with Faber-Castell Polychromos color pencils, but she also works in a variety of other mediums.

In addition to color pencil drawings, Grelin also creates digital vector art, clay sculptures and plushies of her own design. If you want to see more of Grelin’s work, you can check out her DeviantArt gallery, browse her Tumblr, or follow her on Facebook or Twitter.
