Pencil Artist of the Week: Tiffany Turrill

This week’s featured artist is Tiffany Turrill, a pencil artist, freelance illustrator and video game concept artist living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tiffany creates drawings that feature character, creature and environmental designs in a variety of mediums. 

Tiffany was awesome enough to share her list of tools with us:

“I use Alvin Draft-line .5 mm mechanical pencils in HB lead, Zebra M-301 .5 mm mechanical pencils in HB lead, and, most recently, Palomino Blackwing, Blackwing 602, and Blackwing Pearl [pencils].”

In addition to pencil drawings, Tiffany creates traditional paintings as well as digital paintings. Regardless of medium, all of Tiffany’s creations feature her distinct style. Each piece is also accompanied by a thorough description of why and how it was created, and some even feature backstory for the subject being depicted. These little touches make browsing through Tiffany’s gallery a joy.
