Pencil Artist of the Week: Sebastian Vela

This week’s featured pencil artist is Sebastian Vela, a pencil artist from Denmark who started drawing just over a year ago. He started by drawing one to four drawings day, and continued this routine for four months without seeing much improvement. He persevered, however, and has been improving steadily since the start of 2014.

Today, he has developed a style that is all his own. It is a style that is marked by rough yet dark lines and soft colors and shading.

Sebastian works primarily with graphite and ink, though his gallery does contain some digital art as well. He uses a Pilot Super Grip 0.5 and various Staedtler pencils to create his pencil drawings and he uses a Pentel Pocket Brush and Artline fineliners 0.1 and 0.5 for his ink drawings.
