Pencil Artist of the Week: Steamkid

This week’s pencil artist is an anonymous blogger with the Tumblr moniker Steamkid, perhaps a reference to the steampunk sub-genre of science fiction and fantasy. Though her blog’s archives are short, you can see the progression from horizon-line and perspective drawing exercises, to now, a complete style with rich shading, perspective, and detail. In the middle of her archives is her “1000 hand challenge”, with exercises involving (expertly) drawing hands in different poses. This picture shows a cobbled-together house, straight off the streets of 19th century London.

It’s unclear as to what age, nationality, or gender Steamkid is, but she is talented with a pencil.
