Pencil Artist of the Week: Jason Quinones

I met this week’s featured pencil artist at a Dare2Draw event at the Society of Illustrators in New York last month. His name is Jason Quinones, and he is a comic writer, penciler, inker and colorist all rolled into one.

Jason attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art and has worked primarily as a graphic artist, creating T-shirt graphics for various licensing companies, including Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes and Marvel Comics’ Spider-Man. It’s his comic book, however, that grabbed my attention.

Jason’s comic book, titled Beer & Cookies, contains cartoons and short comics that feature his very unique brand of hand-drawn humor. One part satire and one part comic book humor, Beer & Cookies will have comic book fans and non-comic book fans alike in stitches.
