Pencil Artist of the Week: Jay DePalma

After Elizabeth Taylor’s death on Saturday, an image made the Facebook rounds, at least in our pencil-related corner of the internet. It was a closeup of her face from this famous portrait, drawn with a rich, dark pencil.

We found out later this was created by Miami-based pencil artist Jay DePalma, and at his portfolio site, he has many other pencil drawings of Hollywood greats, like Kim Novak, Jean Harlow, or one of our favorites, Audrey Hepburn.
