Kickstarter Project: Magno by HRIBARCAIN

Matthew Cain, Hribarcain Co Founder says: “We’re a new company and we know our launch price must be competitive to get the ball rolling. We strongly believe making profit comes second to great design, so we’ve kept the first release of pencils affordable to make them accessible to a wide range of people”
The new crowd funding campaign was launched on 22/7/16 via the global crowdfunding site, Kickstarter. The first of their product range, Magno, will be launched off the back of this Kickstarter campaign. They strongly believe in captivating people’s curiosity while optimising product performance.
Ashley Hribar-Green, Hribarcain Co founder says: “There really is nothing on the market with such a unique design benefit. Our introductory Kickstarter price for early backers is £20 which is significantly lower than expected retail value and our competitors. Everybody wants something different and this is distinctively different. Pencils are extremely personal and make fantastic presents for friends or family, especially if they last a lifetime like ours. It’s the first thing you pick up, and the last thing you put down whilst expressing yourself in the most creative ways. Over the next year we hope to have our products being distributed by several large retailers. It’s exciting times ahead.”
Key to HribarCain’s resonance with consumers has been the use of quality components and putting this fact at the core of its marketing message as well as innovation.
Traditionally designer pencils have been big on branding, but compromised on quality materials as Mr Cain, explains: “We genuinely believe the quality of the components can be your best marketing tool, so we only feature subtle branding. We became frustrated with designer brands selling pencils for a small fortune that were poorly made and using sub-standard components. We knew from talking to people that they wanted a pencil with a fresh, clean looking design that importantly, stood the test of time because of the quality components within them.
It makes us proud to offer these attributes and change the design of the pencil all together. We now need everyone’s help to make our campaign a success and give people the opportunity to receive a Magno as their own.”
The Magno comes in at 5.8 inches long (147.5mm) and 0.31 inches in diameter (8mm).
It uses 2mm graphite or other 2mm leads.

Anyone care to share — what’s the diameter/size of the lead in this tubular pencil sheath?
Will the sheath take a variety of different pencil lead sizes? Does it take a 1 mm lead? Or something more slender? Isn’t this a significant, and missing, piece of information for anyone who loves pencils, lead, drawing, etc.?
Thanks for answering!
Am answering my own query above!
I just learned on the Kickstarter site — but not anywhere else in the original sales pitch on pencils.com — that the Magno pencil lead is 2 mm.
So if anyone else cares about the thickness of the lead — that’s what it is.
Sounds like a nifty pencil — have just pledged to buy one on Kickstarter!
Hey Jim! Thanks for checking it out! I totally forgot to mention that it takes 2mm graphite or any other colored lead. The diameter of the pencil itself is almost the same as standard wood cased pencil, but only slightly larger. It’s a little less than a third of an inch (8mm) in diameter and is about 5.8 inches (147.5mm) in length.

We’re the one and only student-run Pencil Museum in the world and we teach younger visitors geography, history and math through our 30,000 writing instrument collection. We do not have your Magno Clutch Pencil and would love to
add it to our collection along with any literature you might want to send. We do have a lot of school groups visit and
this might be a great way to help promote your awesome pencil.
Thanks for your anticipated interest and hope you’ll want to send us display items and pencils.
