Pencil Artist of the Week: Patrick Honnen
This week’s featured artist is Patrick Honnen, a pencil and ink artist from Germany. Patrick is an industrial product designer by trade, but he has a passion for creating surreal monochrome drawings. Patrick shared his tools of choice with us:
“For my drawings I use black fineliners and felt pens of Stabilo. If I want to add some pencil work to my drawing, I usually use pencils by Faber-Castell – they are the best in my opinion.”
Patrick’s drawings draw inspiration from German expressionism, featuring large swatches of black and gray and surreal, dreamlike subjects. His drawings would be at home in the reels of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or the films of Fritz Lang, and I absolutely love it.
