Use pencil shavings for kindling in a fire. Having a fire can cut down on heating bills and electricity use.

6) BONUS: Push your art around

If you’re feeling especially creative, pencil shavings can be crafted into artwork, like this portrait:

It’s easy to fix mistakes with shavings and they can always be glued down for future viewing.

Whether you implement these ideas into your day, put it off to another time or make it a part of your daily routine, they are all something you can feel good about, regardless of an “imperfect” result. Please leave comments if you’re so inclined describing your favorite ways to save Mother Earth. Your ideas and experience help!
