Palomino Announces Blackwing602.com
Yesterday, Palomino announced the launch of their new Blackwing-focused site Blackwing602.com (as well of a very interesting new notebook, but more on that later). The site is aimed at fostering the culture of creativity, innovation and excitement surrounding the Blackwing pencil. It will feature articles, videos and profiles of creative people and their processes, and that means a few things for both Blackwing and Pencils.com.

As Blackwing has grown and become its own entity apart from Pencils.com, it has become clear that it needs its own creative space. Not only will new Blackwing content be posted on Blackwing602.com, many of the Blackwing articles that previously made their home at Studio 602 will now be found on the new site as well. We think this will allow the Blackwing and Pencils.com teams to bring you content that is fresh, focused and, most importantly, relevant.
Here’s a quote taken directly from the website’s intro post:
“The buzz surrounding Blackwing has gone far beyond the pencil itself. It has grown into a creative culture that includes artists, musicians, writers and everyday people who appreciate the finer things in life, such as vinyl records, film photography and a good pencil. Blackwing is a culture that breeds new ideas and encourages creative expression, and it’s growing every day.”
We couldn’t agree more, and we’re excited to be a part of it.
