Pencil Artist of the Week: Bonnie Jean Woolger
This week’s featured pencil artist is Bonnie Jean Woolger, a sketchbook artist from Decatur, Georgia. She creates a breed of art that consists of images, shapes and patterns layered together to produce what she calls “collage art.” Call it what you like, Bonnie’s work is incredibly creative and a prime example of what great notebook art can be.
The art that occupies the pages of Bonnie’s sketchbooks is composed of inks, paints, markers and scraps of paper. Every piece of art Bonnie creates, however, starts with a pencil, as evidenced by the work in progress drawing used in this post.
Every time Bonnie finishes filling a sketchbook, she scans its contents and creates a digital version of the book. These digital sketchbooks are then posted on her blog, where you can flip through their pages just like a physical sketchbook.
