I must have read the instructions backwards. However, the point I created by inserting my Blackwing into hole #2 first and then #1 created a long graphite cylinder with a blunt point. Which I took for granted this was the desired results, especially for drawing. I like writing with a blunt point–it worked for me. But thanks for the proper instructions. I commend Palomino in the design of the STOP point–who would have thought…

This sharpener puts most others to shame. I have a collection of all types from cheap plastic “school” sharpeners to expensive drafting ones. I think Blackwing is the best for creating a nice writing point (even thought I went about it backwards).

    Thanks Alex and Palomino…

I have to say, this is THE best pencil sharpener that I’ve ever used in my 43 years of life (and I’ve used a lot of varieties of them over the years, good and bad). I’ve honestly gotten spoiled on using this one. It’s the only one I use now, and I brag about it every chance I get. I’ve never used a sharpener that gets my pencils as sharp as this one does. 🙂
