Kathleen Pequignot, an aspiring teacher & featured artist here on Pencils.com, took the time out of her very busy schedule getting her certification to teach to give an inside look at what inspires her work.

-“When did you start drawing?”-KJ

“I started drawing at a very early age. I remember setting up an artists
“sales” table outside my bedroom door when relatives were expected for
visits–trying to sell my crayon-colored pages that I ripped out of my
coloring books!”-KP

-“What inspired you to create?”-KJ

“I’m not sure what inspires creativity. It’s the one thing that I’ve
never grown bored with… I think it’s the desire to play with color and
line that keeps me experimenting.”-KP

-“What kind of emotions do you express through your work?”-KJ

“For me, it’s all about joy, beauty, serenity, and elegance. My life is
peaceful and happy, and I think that is what comes out of me.”-KP

-“Whats your favorite piece?”-KJ

“I have a new favorite each time I finish a drawing or painting!
Seriously, sometimes it’s hard to sell a work because there is a strong
connection emotionally to the finished product. I think my favorite at
the moment is “The Symphony”, an abstract acrylic piece that reflects
sound vibrations and music themes, as music is such a large part of our
life.”-KP
