Pencil Artist of the Week: Conor Farr

, ,

This week’s pencil artist was recommended to us by one of our followers on Twitter. His name is Conor Farr, and he is a pencil artist based out of the United Kingdom. His portfolio currently consists of portraits of celebrities, children and animals, but it is growing by the day, along with Conor’s talent.

Conor’s style is difficult to classify. He obviously has a knack for capturing realistic details, but his pieces contain something beyond that. His portraits of Will Smith and Stephen Fry, in particular, possess qualities that would be absent in a purely realistic rendering. Like most art, it’s difficult to describe what makes Stephen’s work unique; it’s something you just have to see in order to understand.

If you want to see more of Conor’s work, you can check out his gallery here. You can also follow Conor on Twitter or like him on Facebook. For those of you that are interested, Conor’s website features a “Drawing Board” section where he displays his works in progress. We can’t wait to see how the Marilyn Monroe portrait he has displayed there currently turns out.

What do you think Studio 602 readers? What is it that makes Conor’s work unique?
