Pencils for Kids – Myanmar Mission Trip

Pencils.com has been donating 5% of every purchase made on the site to a few organizations, one of which is an organizations called Pencils for Kids.  We have been a long time supporter for Pencils For Kids, which is an organization dedicated to helping children in developing countries.  Retta Jitner founded Pencils for Kids with the goal of providing children with school supplies in countries where education can become a huge financial burden for families.  In Bali, for example, parents are required to purchase school supplies and uniforms.  Uniforms alone cost about $10, which is about a fourth of an average family monthly income.  Supporting Pencils for Kids helps make education an option for these families that struggle to pay the high cost of supplies.

Recently, Retta and Pencils for Kids embarked on a mission trip to provide backpacks and uniforms to 450 children from orphan homes and low-income families.
